Performance notes

This solo performance was used for teaching and presented in COMP8350 Sound and Music Computing at the Australian National University. Built in Pure Data, the work presents a 120-150 second computer music performance through a single-take screencast, foregrounding the sound structure, interface operation and real-time interaction process.

I approached the piece as an interface-based instrument. The visual patch layout, control gestures and sound behaviours were designed as one performance logic, so the screen could communicate how the system was being played. Technically, the work focuses on real-time sound control, modular interaction and a compact structure that presents both the musical idea and the system logic.
